Master and Associate Master’s Report

·      Wonderful Oktoberfest, really nice dinner. If you’d be interested in more themed dinners, contact Professor Near!

Committee Reports

SAC (Saybrook Activities Committee)

·      Dean Muller won the Most Spirited during Oktoberfest award for her thematic clothing!

·      Coming up: the weekend after we come back from break is Halloween.

·      Haunted House for Saybrook? (Probably too late to throw something like this together.)

Bylaws Committee

·      Did you know that the deadline for being considered absent at this meeting is the reading of new business?

College Seminar Committee

·      Our chosen college seminar for next year is called Atheism and Skepticism in the West.

·      Saybrook Waste Audit is scheduled for November 9.

·      Everyone is welcome to attend; it’ll be on a Monday from 4 to 6 p.m.

·      They’ll go through all your trash!

·      We won Men’s Football today. Co-ed football was close, but we lost by one point to TD.

Saybrook Brew Club

·      Ordered our supplied for our first batch.

·      Will be making a vanilla winter porter.

o   Aiming to do this around Halloweekend.

o   Go-time now: we have everything set up, and we can hit the ground running after break.

o   Contact Aadi if you’re interested in participating (he’ll send a campus-wide e-mail out).

Saybrook Historical Society Committee

·      Couldn’t meet last week because Daniel is ill; will be postponed until after break.

·      Fact for this week: did you know that one of Saybrook’s most famous alumni is A. Bartlett Giamatti, president of Yale and Commissioner of Major League Baseball.

·      And we also found out that Basil Duke Henning has a distant relation to the Kentucky Confederacy.

Yale College Council

·      Events: dates for Fall Show and Last Comic Standing can be found on your e-mail!

·      We also received a survey about possible Spring Fling dates in our e-mails. Respond!

o   Keep in mind that it might conflict with Passover.

·      YCC working on making all college dining halls available for late night work.

·      Reps also work on improving the student experience of low income students.

o   Some ideas: peer liaison program, more discussion during Camp Yale or in froco groups.

·      Look out for an important e-mail coming your way!

Treasurer’s Report

·      Rolling fund remains at $570

New Business

·      Cornhole set for Saybrook?

·      Cissy’s birthday is next Monday! We at Saybrook College Council wish her happy birthday and a big thank you for all that she does for us.
